All Sunday Masses, Weekday Masses, and Parish activities
are temporarily suspended by Bishop Olmsted
The health, safety and well-being of our parishioners (particularly the elderly and vulnerable) as well as that of our parish and school staff is foremost on our minds as we continue to deal with the evolving nature of the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore:
~On Monday, March 30, Governor Ducey announced that all public schools would remain closed through the end of the school year. The Diocese of Phoenix Catholic Schools Office has confirmed that all Catholic Schools will also follow this directive. St. Theresa Catholic School will continue with the scheduled Easter break starting on Thursday, April 9. Classes will resume through our Distance Learning Program on Monday, April 20 and we will end the school year as scheduled on Thursday, May 21. Religious Education Programs are suspended until further notice (continue watching the website for further information).
~Non-sacramental meetings and group gatherings at St. Theresa Parish are suspended until further notice.
~The Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) will be offered at the regularly-scheduled times on Wednesday from 5 until 6PM and Saturday from 9 until 10AM, but will take place outdoors - in the church ramada just south of the church - (per the Bishop's directive that Confessions take place in an open-air space). If it's raining, the McMahon Center Gym will be used - enter through the north doors of the McMahon Center on the south side of the ramada. The main vehicle gates south of the Thomas Road traffic light will be open for your convenience.
~The Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick will be available by calling the Parish Office at 602.840.0850 and asking to speak to a priest or to Maureen Schaaf, Coordinator of Pastoral Care.
Evolving details regarding scheduling changes will be posted on this website and important messages will be texted through Flocknote, for those of you who have signed up for that service.
And remember: “Fear is useless, what is needed is trust.”
We trust in Christ, our Divine Physician... and in one another's prayer.
